Greetings, Mariposa!
I am Jenni Kiser, and I am honored to announce my candidacy for the Mariposa County District 4 Supervisor Seat. As a local, raised on a 250-acre cattle ranch in Catheys Valley, my roots run deep in this beautiful county. My family—father Bob Stark, mother Cynthia Stark, and stepmother Tammie Guenthart—still call Mariposa home, and my little brother Robbie Stark is about to graduate from UC Davis and return at the end of this year.
Roots in Farm Life & Animal Love: My family’s cattle ranch was a haven for various animals—horses, ducks, chickens, bunnies, hogs, geese, cats, dogs, and more. This upbringing instilled in me a lasting love for animals.
Family & Community Ties: A proud mom to Sgt. Nathan Vereschagin, U.S. Army, stationed in Colorado Springs, and blessed with a loving husband, of 16 years, Pete Kiser, and our 11-year-old son, Cooper, who brings us joy with his passion for theatre and a beautiful voice. Rooting my family in Mariposa was a natural choice, and together with my husband, we currently and successfully run two local businesses, one of which earned me Business Woman of the Year and Recreational Center of the Year awards.
Dedication to Education: After completing my education at UC Merced, I earned a BA in psychology. Later, I pursued and achieved a Masters Degree in Conflict Studies from Fresno Pacific University. This educational journey was a personal commitment to contribute meaningfully to my community.
Hobbies & Heart: Beyond professional and academic pursuits, my heart lies in working out, skiing, hiking, and cherishing family time. My true joy is contributing to Mariposa with positivity, enthusiasm, and energy. As an animal lover at heart, I also find fulfillment in rescuing kittens.
Community Dedication: Serving as a mentor mother for Mariposa Safe Families, a Lions Club member, and a Soroptimist International member, I actively support local programs through volunteering and financial sponsorship. These endeavors reflect my deep commitment to community service.
As your potential District 4 Supervisor, my approach is grounded in practicality and a genuine understanding of our community’s needs. I am running because I value trust building through honesty and integrity, fact finding and quality collaboration on all issues. With a diverse background in investigation, including roles in HR and court services, and as the District 4 School Board President/Trustee I bring critical thinking and a willingness to tackle tough questions.
My commitment extends to public service, where I thrive in settings that cultivate trust and collaboration. With a research-oriented approach, I consistently seek inclusive solutions, ensuring the best interests of our community are at the forefront.
My priorities for community development include advocating for:
● System efficiency
● Transparency
● Trust building through consistent communication
● Community service enhancements
● Infrastructure improvements
● Public safety
● Securing the future of Mariposa through financially sound decision-making
● Fiscal responsibility and budget creativity, and
● Love the freedom and democracy this great couuntry is founded on.
It’s essential to note that I will seamlessly fulfill my current School Board position concurrently, transitioning to a full-time commitment with the Board of Supervisors. I am grateful to my current employer, Jeff Shaw – Farmers Insurance, for his support during this transition. I am also grateful my businesses now run themselves which also speaks to my ability to create efficiency.
I am eager to bring my skills, passion, and commitment to the forefront of community leadership. Together, let’s build a thriving, and prosperous Mariposa for all residents. I look forward to earning your trust and serving you as your District 4 Supervisor.
