FFA students land speaking honors

At the end of January, 11 members from Mariposa FFA traveled to Merced College to compete in the annual Merced/Mariposa FFA Section speaking competition.

Students participated in Impromptu Speaking, Job Interview, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Prepared Public Speaking. The local chapter had a successful day with almost every member from MCHS moving on to the final round.

Riley Poor and Pria Wellcome competed in Job Interview and placed tenth and seventh, respectively. In Impromptu, Emily Ramsey finished seventh overall while Paisley Allison placed fifth.

Annie Bryant was fourth in Extemporaneous. Finally, Emelia Williams and Bella Twiss represented the local chapter in Prepared Public Speaking. Williams finished in fifth place while Twiss was first overall.

Twiss will be moving onto the regional competition in March.
