Wear local history: Support the Mariposa Museum with a heritage T-shirt
Community members and visitors can now show their support for the Mariposa Museum and History Center with a new heritage T-shirt featuring the museum’s iconic logo, a wearable tribute to one of the county’s most treasured cultural institutions.
The shirt, priced at $32.99, offers supporters a practical way to celebrate local history while helping sustain the museum’s mission of preserving, interpreting and sharing the stories of Mariposa County.
Founded in 1957, the Mariposa Museum and History Center has long served as a gathering place for residents, students, researchers and travelers seeking a deeper understanding of the region’s heritage. The museum was once honored by the Smithsonian Institution as “The Best Little Museum of its Size West of the Mississippi,” a distinction that continues to reflect its role in preserving the area’s legacy.
Museum officials said the new T-shirt is designed for those who value culture, education and community pride. Each purchase helps support ongoing museum operations, exhibits and public programs that keep Mariposa’s history accessible to future generations.
Supporters are encouraged to add the shirt to their collection, wear it around town, and help spark conversations about the people, places and events that shaped the community.
The Mariposa Museum and History Center is located at 5119 Jessie Street in Mariposa. Summer hours are now in effect, with the museum open Friday through Monday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Visit the museum, pick up a heritage T-shirt, and help keep Mariposa’s history alive.
