Composting Workshop to offer hands-on tips for healthier soil
Residents interested in reducing waste, improving soil health and learning practical composting skills are invited to attend a composting workshop Oct. 24 at Happy Goat Farm.
The beginner-friendly event will cover composting basics, home-scale setup, what materials can and cannot be composted, and how to use finished compost to support healthy soil and plant growth.
Participants also will learn how to troubleshoot common composting problems and receive guidance directly from experts.
Organizers say composting can help households reduce waste, protect the environment, save money on fertilizers and boost garden productivity.
The workshop is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 24 at Happy Goat Farm, 5030 CYA Road in Mariposa.
Registration is available online at https://surveys.ucanr.edu/survey.cfm?surveynumber=49893.
