Correction: Volleyball All-SAL Honors

A story headlined “Grizzlies reload for run at third straight SAL volleyball crown” incorrectly reported the All-Southern Athletic League honors awarded last season to members of this year’s Mariposa County High School varsity volleyball team.

Emma Pioski and Gillian Pioski were named All-SAL, and Emma Pioski was honored as the Southern Athletic League’s Most Valuable Player. The story incorrectly stated that Emma and Gillian Pioski received All-SAL honorable mention.

Gillian Pioski led the Grizzlies with 282 kills. Emma Pioski led Mariposa with 90 aces, and Abby Beery added 89.

Grace Beery, now a senior, and Abby Beery, a junior, received All-SAL honorable mention.

Seniors Sage Hawley, Mia Hansen and Izzy Whited also earned All-SAL honors last season.

The story also misspelled the Pioski sisters’ last name in two references. The correct spelling is Pioski. We regret the errors.
