Mariposa Family Resource Center Announces Community Blood Drive

The Mariposa County Family Resource Center, in partnership with the Central California Blood Center, will host a community blood drive on Saturday, July 25, offering residents an opportunity to support patients in need across the region.

“We are excited to collaborate with the Central California Blood Center and Frost Shop Marketplace for Christmas in July,” a Resource Center spokesperson said. “More information will be shared soon, so community members are encouraged to watch our Facebook page for updates.”

The blood drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 5087 Highway 140, in the former Frost Shop lot.

Organizers are asking donors to visit donateblood.org and complete the health questionnaire through QuickPass on the day of donation to help streamline the process.

Community blood drives play a critical role in maintaining a safe and reliable blood supply for hospitals. Blood cannot be manufactured and must come from volunteer donors; according to the Central California Blood Center, one donation can help save up to three lives, and thousands of donations are needed each month to support local hospitals.

As a thank-you, all donors will receive a coupon for a pint of Umpqua ice cream.
