Fire camp pushes Farm Bureau dinner to November

Due to the ongoing federal fight camp at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, battling the Dome Fire in Yosemite National Park, the annual Mariposa County Farm Bureau dinner has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14 in its traditional location, Building A.

The event brings together neighbors, farmers, ranchers and supporters of local agriculture for an memorable evening of excellent food, lively auctions and community fellowship. The social hour begins at 5 p.m., followed by the dinner at 6:30 p.m.

The event will feature a prime rib dinner, silent auction, live auction and dessert auction.

Proceeds from the dessert auction will support youth programs and scholarships aimed at investing in the next generation of agricultural leaders in Mariposa County.

This year’s dinner will honor Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dulcich of Mariposa’s Coast Do-It-Best Hardware as the Farm Bureau’s “Friend of Agriculture.”

Organizers said the gathering is intended to give residents an opportunity to share a meal, bid on donated items and experience and support programs that strengthen local agriculture, education and rural youth opportunities.

Guests may attend to bid, donate or simply spend the evening with friends and neighbors while contributing to agricultural programs in the county.
