Mariposa Farm & Ranch Tour to showcase local agriculture and land stewardship
Residents and visitors will have the chance to explore Mariposa County’s agricultural roots and conservation efforts during the Mariposa Farm & Ranch Tour, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The annual tour will highlight a range of farms, ranches and stewardship sites across the county, offering participants a closer look at local food production, water conservation, homesteading and vineyard operations.
This year’s featured locations include Sierra Foothill Conservancy’s Stookey Preserve, Betty Massey’s Water Catchment, Folktale Country Homestead, Foxtail Farm and Aurum Vineyard.
Organizers said the event will include agriculture and nature workshops, along with local farm and garden tours designed to connect the public with the people, practices and landscapes that shape Mariposa County’s rural communities.
Tickets are $10 per person or $20 per carload. Children and students may attend free of charge, and lunch will be available during the tour.
Tickets may be purchased online at MariposaFarmsandRanches.com, at Casto Oaks Wine, 5022 Highway 140 in downtown Mariposa, or at each location on the day of the event.
A farm-to-fork pre-event dinner is also planned for Friday, Oct. 9. Dinner tickets are available for purchase online.
